An Introduction
Born in California. Performed in Japan. Raised in Connecticut. Educated in New York. Worked in Louisiana.
Life - shaped by both choice and circumstance - has carried me across states and seas. In youth, it felt like a curse to constantly uproot; in adulthood, it has become an invitation: a challenge, a change of pace, an education in itself.
I’ve returned to the Golden State to be with family at last, but I haven't hung up my boots just yet. There are still places to go.
"You're young. I'm afraid you'll get bored and leave."
-Interviewer who's fears didn't come to fruition
Boring work is not necessarily unimportant.
Boring work is often times essential.
Boring is not an excuse not to care.
There was work to be done. I stayed for three years.
To develop a cellular network across the United States - that was the task. And what processes did I own?
Verification of Site Acquisition and Construction progress with internal and external stakeholders.
Population and activation of payments for work completion.
Management of bird studies and existing permits.
Across hundreds - perhaps over a thousand sites.
The stationery section of Tokyu Hands has always held a special place in my heart. Among the endless rows of pens, pencils, and paper goods, there’s always a corner devoted to delightful deviation — tools that stray boldly from convention and seem to ask, “What if this writing utensil… but [x]?”
Perhaps my fondness for building tools stems from the same instinct. In my work, friction rarely feels permanent — only unexamined. The visible and high-impact changes that hadn’t been made often linger simply because nobody seriously asked, “Why not?”
Not all stick the landing, but the exploration is often worth it.
In fast paced environments, people's buckets overflow consistently. One must be ready to pick up a new hat and bucket to ensure what needs doing gets done.
Parsing of construction drawings, lease agreements, drone made 3d scans, flood zones and structural analysis reports. RF drive testing and fleet vehicle tracking. Coding in VBA and Google App Script.
When it needed doing, it was done.
and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
